My name is Holger Graeber; I live in Dinslaken on the Lower Rhine and am – in the best sense of the word – a child of the Ruhr region.

Photography has been a part of my life for many years. Since 2020, I have been devoting an ever-increasing amount of my time to it and have turned a personal passion into an ambitious photographic project.

Today, I focus primarily on landscape, trees and street photography. I’m less interested in spectacular subjects than in the atmosphere of a place, special light and those small moments that often only reveal themselves at second glance.

Since 2024, I’ve been working increasingly on photographic projects. They give me the opportunity to explore a subject over a longer period, develop my own perspective on it and create a coherent story from individual images.

The Lower Rhine is my photographic home. From here, my work takes me time and again to other landscapes and cities. What I’m looking for isn’t necessarily the spectacular subject. I’m far more interested in what an image evokes, what mood it conveys and whether it can preserve a moment beyond the fleeting instant.

For me, therefore, emotion trumps subject matter.​
